Lie Groups and Lie Algebras, chapter VIII, § 12. Chevalley orders

If we only assume that vv is diagonalizable with integer eigenvalues, uu is not necessarily diagonalizable (for example, take M=Z2M =\mathbf{Z}^2 and u(x,y)=u(x, y) = (y,x)(y, x) for all (x,y)∈M(x, y)\in M).

Let g,h,R,H,Gα,G,U\mathfrak{g},\mathfrak{h},R,\mathscr{H},\mathscr{G}^{\alpha},\mathscr{G},\mathscr{U} be as in no. 7, and assume that G\mathscr{G} is a Chevalley order in (g,h)(\mathfrak{g},\mathfrak{h}).

Bourbaki sets the proof directly after the statement, and the corpus does not separate them, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
