Lie Groups and Lie Algebras, VII, 62

Assume that kk is algebraically closed. Let g\mathfrak{g} be a Lie algebra, h\mathfrak{h} a Cartan subalgebra, and A a subset of the centre of h\mathfrak{h}. Denote by EgE_{\mathfrak{g}} the subgroup of Aut(g\mathfrak{g}) denoted by E in no. 2. Show that, if ss is an element of Aut(g\mathfrak{g}) such that sA=AsA = A, there exists t∈Egt\in E_{\mathfrak{g}} such that th=ht\mathfrak{h}=\mathfrak{h} and t∣A=t|A = IdA_A; in particular, ts∣A=s∣Ats|A =s|A. (Let a\mathfrak{a} be the commutant of A in g\mathfrak{g}; since h\mathfrak{h} and shs\mathfrak{h} are Cartan subalgebras of a\mathfrak{a}, there exists θ∈Ea\theta \in E_{\mathfrak{a}} such that θ(sh)=h\theta (s\mathfrak{h}) =\mathfrak{h}; choose tt from the elements of EgE_{\mathfrak{g}} that extend θ.\theta .)
