Integration, chapter IX, § 1. Premeasures and measures on a topological space

Let (μi)i∈I(\mu_i)_{i \in I} be a family of measures on T. Let A be the set of finite subsets of I; for every α∈A\alpha \in A let λα=∑i∈αμi\lambda_\alpha = \sum_{i \in \alpha} \mu_i. If the family (λα)(\lambda_\alpha) admits a supremum μ\mu in M(T)\mathscr{M}(T), the family (μi)(\mu_i) is said to be summable, μ\mu is called the sum of the family (μi)(\mu_i), and one writes μ=∑i∈Iμi\mu = \sum_{i \in I} \mu_i.

This definition extends the definition of Ch. V, §2, No. 1.

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
