Let $g$ be a free Lie algebra and let $r$ be an ideal of $g$. Suppose that $r = [g, r]$. Show that $r = \{0\}$ (use the fact that $\bigcap_{n \geq 0} \mathscr{C}^n g = \{0\}$).
