Lie Groups and Lie Algebras, VIII, 264

Assume that g\mathfrak{g} is semi-simple. Let p\mathfrak{p} be a parabolic subalgebra of g\mathfrak{g}, and let f1f_1 and f2f_2 be two homomorphisms from g\mathfrak{g} to a finite dimensional Lie algebra. Show that f1∣p=f2∣pf_1|\mathfrak{p}=f_2|\mathfrak{p} implies that f1=f2f_1=f_2. (Reduce to the case in which g\mathfrak{g} is split, then to the case in which g=sl(2,k)\mathfrak{g}=\mathfrak{s}\mathfrak{l}(2, k), and use Lemma 1 of no. 1.)
