Lie Groups and Lie Algebras, chapter VII, § 2. Cartan subalgebras and regular elements of a Lie algebra

Let f:g→g′f:\mathfrak{g}\rightarrow \mathfrak{g}' be a surjective homomorphism of Lie algebras. If h′\mathfrak{h}' is a Cartan subalgebra of g′\mathfrak{g}', there exists a Cartan subalgebra h\mathfrak{h} of g\mathfrak{g} such that h′=f(h)\mathfrak{h}'=f(\mathfrak{h}).

Let a=f−1(h′)\mathfrak{a}=f^{-1}(\mathfrak{h}'). By Cor. 1,a1,\mathfrak{a} has a Cartan subalgebra h\mathfrak{h}. By Cor. 2 of Prop. 4,f(h)=h′4,f(\mathfrak{h}) =\mathfrak{h}'. We show that h\mathfrak{h} is a Cartan subalgebra of g\mathfrak{g}. Let n\mathfrak{n} be the normalizer of h\mathfrak{h} in g\mathfrak{g}. It is enough to prove that h=n\mathfrak{h}=\mathfrak{n}. If x∈n,f(x)x\in \mathfrak{n},f(x) belongs to the normalizer of h′\mathfrak{h}' in g′\mathfrak{g}', so f(x)∈h′f(x)\in \mathfrak{h}' and x∈ax\in \mathfrak{a}; but h\mathfrak{h} is its own normalizer in a\mathfrak{a}, so x∈hx\in \mathfrak{h}.

Bourbaki sets the proof directly after the statement, and the corpus does not separate them, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
