Lie Groups and Lie Algebras, chapter VII, § 3. Conjugacy theorems

Assume that kk is R,C\mathbf{R},\mathbf{C} or a non-discrete complete ultrametric field of characteristic 0. Let GG be a finite dimensional Lie group over k,ek,e its identity element, g\mathfrak{g} its Lie algebra, h\mathfrak{h} a Cartan subalgebra of g,hr\mathfrak{g},\mathfrak{h}_r the set of regular elements of g\mathfrak{g} belonging to h\mathfrak{h}.

(i) Let s\mathfrak{s} be a vector space complement of h\mathfrak{h} in g,s0\mathfrak{g},\mathfrak{s}_0 a neighbourhood of 0 in s\mathfrak{s} on which an exponential map is defined, and h0∈hrh_0\in \mathfrak{h}_r. The map (s,h)→F(s,h)=(s, h) \rightarrow F(s, h) = (exp ad ss).h.h from s0×h\mathfrak{s}_0\times \mathfrak{h} to g\mathfrak{g} is étale at (0,h0)(0, h_0).

(ii) The map (g,h)→F′(g,h)=(g, h) \rightarrow F'(g, h) = (Ad gg).h.h from G×hrG\times \mathfrak{h}_r to g\mathfrak{g} is a submersion. In particular, its image Ω\Omega is open. For all x∈Ω,g0(x)x\in \Omega ,\mathfrak{g}^0(x) is a Cartan subalgebra of g\mathfrak{g} conjugate to h\mathfrak{h} under Ad(G).

(iii) Let h0∈hrh_0\in \mathfrak{h}_r. For any neighbourhood U of ee in G, the set ⋃a∈U\bigcup_{a\in U}(Ad aa)(hr)(\mathfrak{h}_r)

is a neighbourhood of h0h_0 in g\mathfrak{g}.

Let h0h_0 and s\mathfrak{s} be as in (i). Let T be the tangent linear map of F at (0,h0)(0, h_0). Then F(0,h)=hF(0, h) =h for all h∈hh\in \mathfrak{h}, so T(0,h)=hT(0, h) =h for all h∈hh\in \mathfrak{h}. On the other hand, for s0\mathfrak{s}_0 sufficiently small, the tangent linear map at 0 of the map s→s \rightarrow exp ad ss from s0\mathfrak{s}_0 to End(g\mathfrak{g}) is the map s→s \rightarrow ad ss from s\mathfrak{s} to End(g\mathfrak{g}). Thus T(s,0)=[s,h0]T(s,0) = [s, h_0] for all s∈ss\in \mathfrak{s}. Now the map from g/h\mathfrak{g}/\mathfrak{h} to g/h\mathfrak{g}/\mathfrak{h} induced by ad h0h_0 by passage to the quotient is bijective. It follows that T is bijective, hence (i). Since exp ad s=s= Ad exp ss for all s∈ss\in \mathfrak{s} sufficiently close to 0, (iii) and the first assertion of (ii) follow. Every x∈Ωx\in \Omega is of the form (Ad aa)(h)(h) with a∈Ga\in G and h∈hrh\in \mathfrak{h}_r, so g0(x)=\mathfrak{g}^0(x) = (Ad aa)(g0(h))=(\mathfrak{g}^0(h)) = (Ad aa)(h)(\mathfrak{h}) is a subalgebra of g\mathfrak{g} conjugate to h\mathfrak{h} under Ad(G).

Bourbaki sets the proof directly after the statement, and the corpus does not separate them, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
