Lie Groups and Lie Algebras, chapter VII, § 5. Decomposable linear Lie algebras

The semi-simplicity assumption on π\pi is equivalent to saying that π(x)\pi (x) is semi-simple for all x∈cx\in \mathfrak{c}. Note that this assumption is satisfied when π\pi is obtained from the identity representation g→gl(V)\mathfrak{g}\rightarrow \mathfrak{g}\mathfrak{l}(V) by the successive application of the following operations: tensor product, passage to the dual, to a subrepresentation, to a quotient, to a direct sum.

Bourbaki sets the proof directly after the statement, and the corpus does not separate them, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
