Lie Groups and Lie Algebras, chapter VIII, § 7. Finite dimensional modules over a split semi-simple Lie algebra

Every element of P defines a simple h\mathfrak{h}-module of dimension 1, hence a homomorphism from the group Z[P]\mathbf{Z}[P] to the group R(h)\mathscr{R}(\mathfrak{h}), which is an injective homomorphism of rings. It is immediate that the composite

R(g)⟶Z[P]⟶R(h) \mathscr{R}(\mathfrak{g})\longrightarrow \mathbf{Z}[P]\longrightarrow \mathscr{R}(\mathfrak{h})

is the homomorphism defined by the canonical injection of h\mathfrak{h} into g\mathfrak{g} (no. 6).

The Weyl group W operates by automorphisms on the group P, and hence operates on ZP\mathbf{Z}^P. For all λ∈P\lambda \in P and all w∈Ww\in W, we have weλ=ewλwe^{\lambda}=e^{w\lambda}. Let Z[P]W\mathbf{Z}[P]^W be the subring of Z[P]\mathbf{Z}[P] consisting of the elements invariant under W.

Bourbaki sets the proof directly after the statement, and the corpus does not separate them, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
