Let λ=∑α∈Baαα\lambda =\sum_{\alpha\in B}a_{\alpha}\alpha be an element of P++P_{++}. For n=0,1,..n= 0,1, . .., denote by Xn\mathscr{X}_n the set of weights μ\mu of E(λ)E(\lambda ) such that λ−μ\lambda -\mu is the sum of nn elements of B. Let sns_n be the sum of the multiplicities of the elements of Xn\mathscr{X}_n (as weights of E(λ)E(\lambda )). Let T=2∑α∈BaαT = 2\sum_{\alpha\in B}a_{\alpha}. Show that:

a)Ta) T is an integer ≥0\geq 0.

b)sn=0b)s_n= 0 for n>Tn >T, and sT−n=sns_{T-n}=s_n.

c) If rr is the integer part of T/2T/2, then s1≤s2≤⋯≤sr+1s_1\leq s_2\leq \cdots \leq s_{r+1}.
