Lie Groups and Lie Algebras, chapter VIII, § 10. Maximal subalgebras of semi-simple Lie algebras

Let q\mathfrak{q} be a Lie subalgebra of the semi-simple Lie algebra g\mathfrak{g}. Then q\mathfrak{q} is said to be decomposable in g\mathfrak{g} if, for all x∈qx\in \mathfrak{q}, the semi-simple and nilpotent components of xx in g\mathfrak{g} belong to q\mathfrak{q}. Denote by ng(q)\mathfrak{n}_{\mathfrak{g}}(\mathfrak{q}) the set of elements xx of the radical of q\mathfrak{q} such that adgx_{\mathfrak{g}}x is nilpotent.

Let ρ\rho be an injective representation of g\mathfrak{g} on a finite dimensional vector space V. We know (Chap. I, §6, no. 3, Th. 3) that an element xx of g\mathfrak{g} is semi-simple (resp. nilpotent) if and only if the endomorphism ρ(x)\rho (x) of V is semi-simple (resp. nilpotent). It follows immediately that the algebra q\mathfrak{q} is decomposable in g\mathfrak{g} if and only if ρ(q)\rho (\mathfrak{q}) is a decomposable subalgebra of gl(V)\mathfrak{g}\mathfrak{l}(V) in the sense of Definition 1 of Chap. VII, §5, no. 1. With the notations of Chap. VII, §5, no. 3, we also have

ρ(ng(q))=nV(ρ(q)) \rho (\mathfrak{n}_{\mathfrak{g}}(\mathfrak{q})) =\mathfrak{n}_V(\rho (\mathfrak{q}))

Bourbaki sets the proof directly after the statement, and the corpus does not separate them, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
