Lie Groups and Lie Algebras, VIII, 265

Let (x,h,y)(x, h, y) be an sl2\mathfrak{s}\mathfrak{l}_2-triplet in g\mathfrak{g}. Show that, if −2-2 is a square in kk, the elements x−yx-y and hh are conjugate by an element of Aute(g)_e(\mathfrak{g}) (reduce to the case in which g=sl(2,k)\mathfrak{g}=\mathfrak{s}\mathfrak{l}(2, k)). Deduce that, if g\mathfrak{g} is semi-simple, x−yx-y is semi-simple, and that it is regular if and only if hh is regular.
