Topologie algébrique, chapter III, § 1. Homotopies, homéotopies

The mapping αf\alpha_f induces a homeomorphism of X×[0,1[X\times [0,1[ onto an open subset of Cyl(ff). The mapping βf\beta_f defines a homeomorphism of Y onto the complement of this open subset. The mapping βf∘γf\beta_f\circ \gamma_f is a continuous retraction of Cyl(ff) onto βf(Y)\beta_f(Y).

The set X×[0,1[X\times [0,1[ is an open subset of U, saturated for the relation R, and the equivalence relation induced by R in X×[0,1[X\times [0,1[ is the equality relation. The first assertion follows from this (TG, I, p. 23, cor. 10).

The complement of αf(X×[0,1[)\alpha_f(X\times [0,1[) is βf(Y)\beta_f(Y). Since one has γf∘βf=\gamma_f\circ \beta_f= IdY,βf_Y,\beta_f defines a homeomorphism of Y onto βf(Y)\beta_f(Y) and βf∘γf\beta_f\circ \gamma_f is a continuous retraction of the canonical injection of βf(Y)\beta_f(Y) into Cyl(ff).

The closed subspace βf(Y)\beta_f(Y) of Cyl(ff) is called the basis of the cylinder of ff. The mapping βf∘γf\beta_f\circ \gamma_f is called the canonical retraction of Cyl(ff) onto its basis.

Consider the mappings σ1:U1×I→\sigma_1: U_1\times \mathbf{I}\rightarrow Cyl(ff) and σ2:U2×I→\sigma_2: U_2\times \mathbf{I}\rightarrow Cyl(ff) defined by

σ1((x,s),t)=αf(x,(1−t)s+t)\sigma_1((x, s), t) =\alpha_f(x,(1-t)s+t) for (x,s)∈X×I(x, s)\in X\times \mathbf{I} and t∈It\in \mathbf{I}

σ2(y,t)=βf(y)\sigma_2(y, t) =\beta_f(y) for y∈Yy\in Y and t∈It\in \mathbf{I}.

They are continuous. For x∈Xx\in X and t∈It\in \mathbf{I}, one has

σ1((x,1),t)=αf(x,1)=βf(f(x))=σ2(f(x),t) \sigma_1((x,1), t) =\alpha_f(x,1) =\beta_f(f(x)) =\sigma_2(f(x), t)

There therefore exists a unique mapping σf\sigma_f of Cyl(ff)×I\times \mathbf{I} into Cyl(ff) such that σf∘(αf×\sigma_f\circ (\alpha_f\times IdI)=σ1_{\mathbf{I}}) =\sigma_1 and σf∘(βf×\sigma_f\circ (\beta_f\times IdI)=σ2_{\mathbf{I}}) =\sigma_2. The mapping σf\sigma_f is continuous (I, p. 19, prop. 10).

Bourbaki sets the proof directly after the statement, and the corpus does not separate them, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
