Topologie algébrique, chapter III, § 1. Homotopies, homéotopies
Let X and Y be topological spaces and let be a continuous mapping. The canonical mapping Cone is constant on and therefore defines a continuous mapping Cone. The restriction of the mapping to is injective and strict, and defines by passing to the subspaces a homeomorphism of the open cone onto the complement of Y in Cone.
Let us identify the base of the cone C(X) with the space X and let denote the continuous mapping of into Cone deduced from the mappings Cone and Cone. Conversely, let Cone be the unique continuous mapping such that is the canonical mapping of onto C(X) and is the canonical mapping of Y onto . The mappings and are inverse homeomorphisms of one another.
Bourbaki sets the proof directly after the statement, and the corpus does not separate them, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
