Topologie algébrique, chapter IV, § 2. Groupes de Poincaré des espaces délaçables

Let (Ui)i∈I(U_i)_{i\in I} be a finite family of nonempty open subsets of a topological space X and let O be an open dense subset of X×XX\times X. There exists a family (Vi)i∈I(V_i)_{i\in I} of nonempty open subsets of X such that Vi⊂UiV_i\subset U_i for all i∈Ii\in I and such that Vi×Vi′⊂OV_i\times V_{i'}\subset O for every pair (i,i′)(i, i') of distinct elements of I.

For every pair (j1,j2)(j_1, j_2) of distinct elements of I, the set of families (xi)∈XI(x_i)\in X^I such that (xj1,xj2)∈O(x_{j_1}, x_{j_2})\in O is an open dense subset of XIX^I. The intersection Ω of these open sets, when (j1,j2)(j_1, j_2) runs through the finite set of pairs of distinct elements of I, is therefore an open dense subset of XIX^I. Consequently, Ω∩∏i∈IUi\Omega \cap \prod_{i\in I}U_i is a nonempty open subset of XIX^I, hence contains an open subset of XIX^I of the form ∏i∈IVi\prod_{i\in I}V_i, where for every i∈Ii\in I, ViV_i is an open, nonempty, subset of UiU_i. This proves the lemma.

Bourbaki sets the proof directly after the statement, and the corpus does not separate them, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
