Let K be the polynomially convex envelope of Spp(f(a)). One has g(f(a))=(g∘f)(a) for every germ g∈O(K;A).
Let Ψ be the mapping from O(K;A) into A such that Ψ(g)=(g∘f)(a). It is a continuous unital morphism such that Ψ(zj)=fj(a), where zj is the germ of the j-th coordinate function on Cp. When g is the germ of a polynomial function, one therefore has Ψ(g)=g(f(a)). By th. 2 of I, p. 68, this formula remains valid for every g∈O(K;A).
Let us now prove the theorem. Let V be an open neighbourhood of Spp(f(a)) and g∈O(V;A) a holomorphic function whose germ in a neighbourhood of Spp(f(a)) is equal to g. Let b∈Cp+q be an envelopment of (f(a),V) (Lemma 11 of I, p. 70) and π:V×Cq→V the canonical projection.
Let f1,...,fp be holomorphic functions whose germs are f1,...,fp and let U be an open neighbourhood of Spn(a) such that (f1,...,fp)(U)⊂V. Let π′ be the canonical projection of U×Cq onto U. Let us denote by zn+1,...,zn+q the last q coordinate functions on Cn+q. Put h=g∘(f1,...,fp) and
c=(a1,...,an,bp+1,...,bp+q)∈An+q
The mapping g∘π is holomorphic in the open neighbourhood V×Cq of the polynomially convex envelope L of Spp+q(b). By Lemma 12, applied to c, to the germs in a neighbourhood of L of the functions
Since π′(c)=a, we have (h∘π′)(c)=h(a) and (fi∘π′)(c)=fi(a) for 1⩽i⩽p (property (CF3) of the holomorphic functional calculus). Since, moreover, zn+j(c)=bp+j for 1⩽j⩽q (property (CF2)), we have
(g∘π)(f1(a),...,fp(a),bp+1,...,bp+q)=h(a)
whence we deduce g(f1(a),...,fp(a))=h(a) by applying property (CF3) again.
Bourbaki sets the proof directly after the statement, and the corpus does not separate them, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
