Let $A$ be a stellar algebra, $I$ a closed two-sided ideal of $A$ and $B$ a closed involutive subalgebra of $A$. Then B+I is a closed involutive subalgebra of $A$, and there exists an isometric isomorphism $B + I/I\rightarrow B/B\cap I$.
