Theory of Sets, chapter II, § 4. Union and intersection of a family of sets

If ff is an injection of A into B and if (Xι)ι∈I(X_\iota)_{\iota \in I} is a family of subsets of A whose index set I is not empty, then f⟨⋂ι∈IXι⟩=⋂ι∈If⟨Xι⟩f\left\langle \bigcap_{\iota \in I} X_\iota \right\rangle = \bigcap_{\iota \in I} f\langle X_\iota \rangle.

For we may write f=i∘gf = i \circ g, where ii is the canonical injection of f⟨A⟩f\langle A \rangle into B and gg is a bijection of A onto f⟨A⟩f\langle A \rangle. If hh denotes the inverse mapping of gg, we have f⟨X⟩=h−1⟨X⟩f\langle X \rangle = \overset{-1}{h}\langle X \rangle for every subset X of A, and we are therefore brought back to Proposition 4.

Bourbaki sets the proof directly after the statement, and the corpus does not separate them, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
