Theory of Sets, chapter II, § 5. Product of a family of sets

Let (Xι)ι∈I(X_\iota)_{\iota \in I} and (Yϰ)ϰ∈K(Y_\varkappa)_{\varkappa \in K} be two families of sets with non-empty index sets I, K. Then

(⋂ι∈IXι)∪(⋂ϰ∈KYϰ)=⋂(ι, ϰ)∈I×K(Xι∪Yϰ),\left( \bigcap_{\iota \in I} X_\iota \right) \cup \left( \bigcap_{\varkappa \in K} Y_\varkappa \right) = \bigcap_{(\iota,\, \varkappa) \in I \times K} (X_\iota \cup Y_\varkappa),
(⋃ι∈IXι)∩(⋃ϰ∈KYϰ)=⋃(ι, ϰ)∈I×K(Xι∩Yϰ).\left( \bigcup_{\iota \in I} X_\iota \right) \cap \left( \bigcup_{\varkappa \in K} Y_\varkappa \right) = \bigcup_{(\iota,\, \varkappa) \in I \times K} (X_\iota \cap Y_\varkappa).

Let α\alpha, β\beta be two distinct objects; apply the formulae of Proposition 8 (with L={α, β}L = \{\alpha,\ \beta\}, Jα=IJ_\alpha = I, Jβ=KJ_\beta = K) to the family ((Zλ, μ)μ∈Jλ)λ∈L((Z_{\lambda,\, \mu})_{\mu \in J_\lambda})_{\lambda \in L}, where Zα, ι=XιZ_{\alpha,\, \iota} = X_\iota for all ι∈I\iota \in I and Zβ, ϰ=YϰZ_{\beta,\, \varkappa} = Y_\varkappa for each ϰ∈K\varkappa \in K. By the existence of the canonical bijection of ∐λ∈LJλ\coprod_{\lambda \in L} J_\lambda onto I×KI \times K (no. 3) and by Proposition 1 of § 4 we obtain the formulae stated.

Bourbaki sets the proof directly after the statement, and the corpus does not separate them, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
