Commutative Algebra, chapter II, § 2. Rings and modules of fractions

Let AA be a ring and N\mathfrak{N} its nilradical. For every multiplicative subset SS of AA, S−1NS^{-1}\mathfrak{N} is the nilradical of S−1AS^{-1}A. In particular, if AA is reduced, then S−1AS^{-1}A is reduced.

If x∈Ax \in A, s∈Ss \in S satisfy (x/s)n=xn/sn=0(x/s)^n = x^n/s^n = 0, there exists s′∈Ss' \in S such that s′xn=0s'x^n = 0 (no. 1, Remark 3) and a fortiori (s′x)n=0(s'x)^n = 0, hence s′x∈Ns'x \in \mathfrak{N} and x/s=s′x/s′s∈S−1Nx/s = s'x/s's \in S^{-1}\mathfrak{N}; the converse is immediate.

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
