Commutative Algebra, chapter II, § 4. Spectra of rings and supports of modules

For all f∈Af \in A, the open set XfX_f in X=Spec(A)X = \mathrm{Spec}(A) is quasi-compact; in particular, the space XX is quasi-compact.

As the XgX_g form a base of the topology, it is sufficient to prove that, if (gλ)λ∈L(g_\lambda)_{\lambda \in L} is a family of elements of AA such that Xf⊂⋃λ∈LXgλX_f \subset \bigcup_{\lambda \in L} X_{g_\lambda}, then there exists a finite subfamily (gλi)i∈I(g_{\lambda_i})_{i \in I} such that Xf=⋃i∈IXgλiX_f = \bigcup_{i \in I} X_{g_{\lambda_i}}. But the relation Xf=⋃λ∈LXgλX_f = \bigcup_{\lambda \in L} X_{g_\lambda} means that there exists an integer n>0n > 0 and a finite subfamily (gλi)i∈I(g_{\lambda_i})_{i \in I} such that "f" belongs to the ideal generated by that subfamily (Corollary 3 to Proposition 11); whence the proposition.

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
