Commutative Algebra, chapter II, § 5. Finitely generated projective modules. Invertible fractional ideals

Let MM be a sub-A-module of BB. The following conditions are equivalent: (a) MM is non-degenerate. (b) MM meets SS. (c) If j:M→Bj : M \to B is the canonical injection, the homomorphism u=S−1j:S−1M→Bu = S^{-1}j : S^{-1}M \to B is bijective.

(a) implies (b), for if B.M=BB.M = B, there exists a∈A,s∈Sa \in A, s \in S and x∈Mx \in M such that (a/s)x=1(a/s)x = 1, hence ax=sax = s belongs to S∩MS \cap M. To see that (b) implies (c), note that uu is already injective (§2§ 2, no. 4, Theorem 1); moreover, if x∈M∩Sx \in M \cap S, the image under uu of x/x∈S−1Mx/x \in S^{-1}M in BB is equal to 1 and uu is therefore surjective. Finally, (c) clearly implies (a).

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
