Commutative Algebra, chapter III, § 2. General results on filtered rings and modules

Let A be a filtered ring, (An)n∈Z(A_n)_{n \in \mathbf{Z}} its filtration and v its orderfunction. Suppose that gr(A)\mathrm{gr}(A) is a ring with no divisor of zero. Then, for every ordered pair of elements a, b of the ring B=⋃n∈ZAnB = \bigcup_{n \in \mathbf{Z}} A_n, v(ab)=v(a)+v(b)v(ab) = v(a) + v(b).

As n=⋂n∈ZAnn = \bigcap_{n \in \mathbf{Z}} A_n is a two-sided ideal of the ring B, the formula holds if v(a)v(a) or v(b)v(b) is equal to +∞+\infty. If not, v(a)=rv(a) = r and v(b)=sv(b) = s are integers; the classes α\alpha of a mod. A, +, and β\beta of b mod. A, +_1 are ≠0\neq 0 by definition, whence by hypothesis αβ≠0\alpha \beta \neq 0 in gr(A)\mathrm{gr}(A) and therefore ab∉Ar+s+1ab \notin A_{r+s+1}, as ab∈Ar+sab \in A_{r+s},

v(ab)=v(a)+v(b). v(ab) = v(a) + v(b).

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
