Commutative Algebra, chapter V, § 1. Notion of an integral element

Let AA be a ring and RR an AA-algebra (not necessarily commutative). An element x∈Rx \in R is called integral over AA if it satisfies the equivalent properties (E1E_1), (EIIE_{II}), (EIIIE_{III}) of Theorem 1.

A relation of the form P(x)=0P(x) = 0, where PP is a monic polynomial in A[X]A[X] is also called an equation of integral dependence with coefficients in AA.

Examples

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
