Commutative Algebra, chapter V, § 1. Notion of an integral element

Let AA be an integral domain, A′A' its integral closure and ff the annihilator of the AA-module A′/AA'/A. Suppose that A′A' is afinitely generated AA-module. The prime ideals p∈Ap \in A such that ApA_p is not integrally closed are those which contain ff.

This follows immediately from Corollary 4 (ii) applied to S=A−pS = A - p.

Note that under the hypotheses of Corollary 5 f≠0f \neq 0 since A′A' is a finitely generated AA-module and every element of K/AK/A (KK the field of fractions of AA) has an annihilator ≠0\neq 0.

In algebraic geometry, Corollary 5 and the above remark show that the points where an affine variety VV is not normal form a closed set distinct from VV. \*

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
