Algebra, chapter II, § 1. Modules

An endomorphism e of an A-module E is called a projector if e∘e=ee \circ e = e (in other words, if e is an idempotent in the ring End(E)). In End⁡(E)\operatorname{End}(E) a family (eλ)λ∈L(e_\lambda)_{\lambda \in L} of projectors is called orthogonal if eλ∘eμ=0e_\lambda \circ e_\mu = 0 for λ≠μ\lambda \neq \mu.

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
