Algebra, chapter II, § 1. Modules

Let M1,M2M_1, M_2 be two supplementary submodules in an A-module E. The restriction to M1M_1 of the canonical mapping E→E/M2E \to E/M_2 is an isomorphism of M1M_1 onto E/M2E/M_2.

This linear mapping is surjective since M1+M2=EM_1 + M_2 = E and it is injective since its kernel is the intersection of M1M_1 and the kernel M2M_2 of E→E/M2E \to E/M_2 and hence reduces to {0}\{0\}.

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
