Topological Vector Spaces, chapter II, § 5. Separation of convex sets

— For a subset AA of a vector space EE, a hyperplane HH is called a support-hyperplane of AA, if HH contains at least one point of AA and all the points of AA lie on the same side of HH.

Let ff be a linear form on EE that is not identically zero; to say that the hyperplane of the equation f(x)=αf(x) = \alpha is a support hyperplane of AA means that α\alpha is either the smallest or the largest member of the set f(A)⊂Rf(A) \subset \mathbf{R}. In other words, there exists a support hyperplane of AA parallel to the hyperplane of equation f(x)=0f(x) = 0, if, and only if, one of the bounds of the set f(A)f(A) is finite and belongs to f(A)f(A).

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
