Topological Vector Spaces, chapter II, § 5. Separation of convex sets

— In a locally convex space, the closure of each linear variety MM is the intersection of the closed hyperplanes that contain MM.

For all x∉M‾x \notin \overline{M}, let HH be a closed hyperplane that separates xx strictly from M‾\overline{M};

thus M‾\overline{M} is parallel to HH; the closed hyperplane H1H_1, containing M‾\overline{M} and parallel to HH does not contain xx. The corollary follows.

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
