Integration, chapter IX, § 1. Premeasures and measures on a topological space

— Let ww be a premeasure on a topological space TT. One says that ww is a measure (resp. a bounded measure) if the encumbrance ∣w∣∙|w|^\bullet is locally bounded (resp. bounded) (cf. No. 1, Def. 2).

The set of complex measures on TT is obviously a vector space (Remark 1), which will be denoted M(T;C)\mathscr{M}(T; \mathbf{C}). The space of real measures will be denoted M(T;R)\mathscr{M}(T; \mathbf{R}) or more often M(T)\mathscr{M}(T), and the cone of positive measures will be denoted M+(T)\mathscr{M}_+(T).

If ww is a complex measure, its real part and its imaginary part are real measures. If ww is a real measure, w+w^+ and w−w^- are positive measures. Every complex (resp. real) measure is thus a linear combination (resp. difference) of positive measures.

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
