Lie Groups and Lie Algebras, chapter II, § 1. Enveloping bigebra of a Lie algebra

Let EE be a graded bigebra (Algebra, Chapter III, § 11, no. 4, Definition 3) and (En)n≥0(E^n)_{n \geq 0} its graduation. We write En=∑i=0nEiE_n = \sum_{i=0}^n E^i. The sequence (En)(E_n) is a filtration compatible with the bigebra structure on EE.

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
