Commutative Algebra, chapter X, § 1. Profondeur

Let AA be a ring, JJ an ideal of finite type of AA and MM an AA-module. Let BB be a ring and ρ:A→B\rho : A \to B a ring homomorphism making BB into a flat AA-module.

a) One has prof⁡A(J;M)≤prof⁡B(JB;B⊗AM)\operatorname{prof}_A(J; M) \leq \operatorname{prof}_B(JB; B \otimes_A M).

b) Suppose moreover that every maximal ideal of Supp⁡(M)\operatorname{Supp}(M) containing JJ belongs to the image of the canonical mapping Spec⁡(B)→Spec⁡(A)\operatorname{Spec}(B) \to \operatorname{Spec}(A). Then one has prof⁡A(J;M)=prof⁡B(JB;B⊗AM)\operatorname{prof}_A(J; M) = \operatorname{prof}_B(JB; B \otimes_A M). This is the case for example if the AA-module BB is faithfully flat.

Assertion a) follows from Theorem 1 and Lemma 1.

Let pp be an integer strictly less than prof⁡B(JB;B⊗AM)\operatorname{prof}_B(JB; B \otimes_A M), and let mm be a maximal ideal of AA belonging to Supp⁡(M)∩V(J)\operatorname{Supp}(M) \cap V(J). Let xx be a finite generating family of the ideal JJ. Under the hypothesis of b), there exists a prime ideal nn of BB lying over mm, and one has a canonical isomorphism

Bn⊗Am(Am⊗AHp(x,M))⟶Bn⊗B(B⊗AHp(x,M)) B_n \otimes_{A_m} (A_m \otimes_A H^p(x, M)) \longrightarrow B_n \otimes_B (B \otimes_A H^p(x, M))

Now B⊗AHp(x,M)B \otimes_A H^p(x, M) is isomorphic to Hp(ρ(x),B⊗AM)H^p(\rho(x), B \otimes_A M) (Lemma 1), hence is zero; moreover BnB_n is faithfully flat over AmA_m (I, § 3, No. 5, Proposition 9 and II, § 3, No. 4, Proposition 14 and Remark). Hence one has Am⊗AHp(x,M)=0A_m \otimes_A H^p(x, M) = 0 and therefore p<prof⁡Am(Jm;Mm)p < \operatorname{prof}_{A_m}(J_m; M_m) (Lemma 1 and Theorem 1). The first assertion of b) then follows from Proposition 5; the second follows from I, § 3, No. 5, Proposition 9).

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
