Commutative Algebra, chapter X, § 1. Profondeur

Let AA be a noetherian ring, JJ an ideal of AA, MM a finitely generated AA-module, A^\widehat{A} and M^\widehat{M} the separated completions of AA and MM for the JJ-adic topology. Then one has prof⁡A(J;M)=prof⁡A^(JA^;M^)\operatorname{prof}_A(J; M) = \operatorname{prof}_{\widehat{A}}(J\widehat{A}; \widehat{M}).

In fact, the AA-module A^\widehat{A} is flat and the A^\widehat{A}-module M^\widehat{M} is isomorphic to A^⊗AM\widehat{A} \otimes_A M (III, § 3, No. 4, Theorem 3); moreover, every maximal ideal of AA containing JJ belongs to the image of the mapping Spec⁡(A^)→Spec⁡(A)\operatorname{Spec}(\widehat{A}) \to \operatorname{Spec}(A) (loc. cit., Proposition 8).

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
