Let be a regular ring, an ideal of , and a subring of such that the canonical homomorphism is bijective.
a) The ideal is completely secant, the -module is finitely generated projective, and the ring is regular.
b) Let be an -linear section of the canonical surjection . The homomorphism of -algebras extending extends to an isomorphism of the completion of the graded ring onto the separated completion of for the -adic topology.
a) Let be a prime ideal of containing . We have and hence , therefore . Let denote the canonical injection of into . From the preceding, the mapping is injective, and the same is true of . Nakayama's lemma implies that the ideal of is generated by a subset of a system of coordinates of the regular local ring . By Prop. 2 of VIII, § 5, No. 3, the ring is regular and the ideal is completely secant. Thus is completely secant, the ring , isomorphic to , is regular, and the -module is finitely generated projective by Theorem 1 (No. 2).
b) It follows from Theorem 1 that the canonical homomorphism is bijective. Let be the homomorphism of -algebras extending the -linear mapping . If is endowed with the -adic filtration and with the filtration associated with its graduation, is identified with the homomorphism deduced from by passing to the associated graded rings. Assertion b) then follows from III, § 2, No. 8, Corollary 3 to Theorem 1.
Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
