Algebra, chapter IX, § 1. Formes sesquilinéaires

When AA is a field, the linear mappings ss and dd have the same rank. We see here that their matrices M(s)M(s) and M(d)M(d) have the same rank; indeed, a matrix over AA and its transpose have the same rank (chap. II, § 6, No. 7, prop. 3) and, when Φ\Phi is sesquilinear, the equality of the ranks of RR over AA and of ′R'R over A0A^0 (ibid.) and the fact that J′J' is an isomorphism of A0A^0 onto AA, entail the equality of the ranks of RR and of ′RJ'R^J over AA.

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
