Algebra, chapter IX, § 6. Propriétés spéciales aux formes hermitiennes

Suppose that A\mathbf{A} is a field and that E\mathbf{E} is finite-dimensional. In order that a projector ν\nu in E\mathbf{E} be such that ν(E)\nu(\mathbf{E}) and ν(0)\nu(0) are orthogonal (and consequently non-isotropic), it is necessary and sufficient that ν=ν∗\nu = \nu^*.

It suffices to apply prop. 4 to the involution u=1−2νu = 1 - 2\nu.

A projector satisfying the condition of Corollary 2 is called an orthogonal projector for Φ\Phi.

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
