Algebra, chapter IX, § 10. Angles

a) When ω2=δ\omega^2 = \delta is not a square in AA (that is to say, when EE does not contain any isotropic right), the mapping tt of S+/HS^+/H into A~\tilde{A} is a bijection.

b) When δ\delta is the square of an element γ\gamma of AA, the mapping tt is a bijection of S+/HS^+/H onto A~\tilde{A} with the elements 1/γ1/\gamma and −1/γ-1/\gamma removed.

c) Denoting S+/HS^+/H additively, one has, for φ,φ′\varphi, \varphi' in S+/HS^+/H

(2)

t(φ+φ′)=(t(φ)+t(φ′))/(1+δt(φ)t(φ′)) t(\varphi + \varphi') = (t(\varphi) + t(\varphi'))/(1 + \delta t(\varphi)t(\varphi'))
when t(φ)t(\varphi) and t(φ′)t(\varphi') are finite and 1+t(φ)t(φ′)1 + t(\varphi)t(\varphi') is ≠0\neq 0.

In fact, since S+/HS^+/H is a set of lines (with 0 omitted) of A(Φ)A(\Phi) considered as a vector plane over AA, tt is injective. On the other hand, for an element a+bωa + b\omega (a∈A,b∈Aa \in A, b \in A) of A(Φ)A(\Phi) to be a direct similitude, it is necessary and sufficient that it be invertible, that is to say, that one have N(a+bω)=a2−δb2≠0N(a + b\omega) = a^2 - \delta b^2 \neq 0, or again (b/a)2≠1/δ(b/a)^2 \neq 1/\delta; this proves the assertions of surjectivity in a) and b). Finally, the product of the similitudes 1+t(φ)ω1 + t(\varphi)\omega and 1+t(φ′)ω1 + t(\varphi')\omega is the similitude 1+δt(φ)t(φ′)+(t(φ)+t(φ′))ω1 + \delta t(\varphi)t(\varphi') + (t(\varphi) + t(\varphi'))\omega, which proves c).

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
