Algebra, chapter X, § 2. Complexes de A-modules

Let C and C' be two bounded complexes of type C\mathscr{C}. If there exists a homologism u:C′→Cu : C' \to C, one has χ(C)=χ(C′)\chi(C) = \chi(C'). Indeed, Con (uu) is bounded of type C\mathscr{C} and one has χ(Con⁡(u))=χ(C)−χ(C′)\chi(\operatorname{Con}(u)) = \chi(C) - \chi(C'); on the other hand, H(Con⁡(u))=0H(\operatorname{Con}(u)) = 0 by X, p. 38, cor., hence χ(Con⁡(u))=0\chi(\operatorname{Con}(u)) = 0 (lemma 4).

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
