Let A be the ring Q[X]. Let Ω=(Ωn)n∈N be the element of A such that ΦA(Ω)=(X,X,...,X,...). For every element a of Zp, put
Ω(a)=(Ωn(a))n∈N.
a) For every a∈Zp, and every integer n∈N, one has Ωn(a)∈Zp.
b) For every a∈Z and every integer n∈N, one has Ωn(a)∈Z, and, if a∈N, Ω(a) is the element of W(Z) equal to the sum of a terms each equal to the unit element of W(Z).
c) The mapping a↦Ω(a) defines a homomorphism of Zp into W(Zp) which, when Zp is identified with W(Fp) (§ 1, No. 7, Example 3), coincides with the homomorphism sFp defined in Exercise 15.
