Let A denote the ring Z[(Xn)n∈N,(Yn)n∈N] of polynomials in the two families of indeterminates (Xn) and (Yn), and B the ring Z[X,Y] of polynomials in two indeterminates X and Y. For every polynomial R of B, there exists a unique sequence of polynomials (Rn)n∈N of A such that, for every n∈N, one has
R(Φn(X0,...,Xn),Φn(Y0,...,Yn))=Φn(R0,...,Rn).
One has R0=R(X0,Y0) and Rn does not depend on the Xi and Yi for i>n. If R is homogeneous of degree r with respect to X (resp. Y, resp. (X,Y)) and if for every i∈N one assigns the weight pi to Xi and Yi, then Rn is isobaric of weight rpn with respect to (Xi)i∈N (resp. (Yi)i∈N, resp. ((Xi)i∈N,(Yi)i∈N)). If R is constant, Rn is constant. Examine the cases R=0,1,−1,X+Y,XY,−X.
