Commutative Algebra, X
Let be a field, a regular local -algebra of dimension , such that the extension is trivial. The -modules and are Matlis modules, hence isomorphic; we propose to make explicit an isomorphism between these two modules.
(a) Let be a system of coordinates of . For every integer , denote by the -algebra . The classes of the monomials with form a basis of over ; denote by the linear form on which has value 1 on the class of and 0 on the other elements of the basis. Prove that the -linear mapping deduced from the bilinear form is an isomorphism (one may reason directly, or use exerc. 10 of § 5).
(b) For , let be the -linear homomorphism induced by the homothety of ratio , and let be the mapping of passing to the quotient; prove that one has . Deduce by passing to the inductive limit, taking into account exerc. 8, c), an -linear isomorphism .
(c) Suppose , so that is a discrete valuation ring, and a uniformizer of . Show that the choice of the uniformizer permits identifying with ; the isomorphism is then defined by , where is the projection on the factor in the canonical decomposition .
