Exercise 34, § 1
Topological Vector Spaces, V, p. 67
Let be a Banach space, a bounded convex set in and closed for . Suppose that, for every sequence in , there exists a subsequence such that the sequence of means is convergent for . Now prove that for every continuous linear form on E, there exists an element of K such that (apply the assumption to a sequence of points of K such that tends to ).
Deduce that if E possesses the property of Exercise 33, d), it is a reflexive space (cf. IV, p. 57, Exercise 25).
