Exercise 17, § 2

Commutative Algebra, I, 46

Let AA be a ring. Show that the following properties are equivalent: (a)(a) Every element a∈Aa \in A satisfies the equivalent properties of Exercise 16. (β)(\beta) Every finitely generated right ideal of AA is a direct factor of AdA_d. (y)(y) Every left AA-module is flat. (8)(8) Every right AA-module is flat. Then AA is called an absolutely flat ring (*). (Tosee that (aa)implies (β\beta), use Exercise 15(b) of Algebra, Chapter VIII, § 6.)
