Exercise 9, § 2

Commutative Algebra, I, 43

Let EE be a finitely presented left AA-module. (a) Show that for every family (Fi)i∈I(F_i)_{i \in I} of right AA-modules, the canonical homomorphism E⊗A(∏i∈IFi)→∏L∈I(E⊗AFi)E \otimes_A \left( \prod_{i \in I} F_i \right) \to \prod_{L \in I} (E \otimes_A F_i) (Algebra, Chapter II, § 3, no. 7) is bijective. (b) Let (Gα,ϕβα)(G_\alpha, \phi_{\beta\alpha}) be a direct system of left AA-modules; show that the Canonical homomorphism

lim⁡⟶Hom⁡A(E,Gα)→Hom⁡A(E,lim⁡⟶Gα) \lim_{\longrightarrow} \operatorname{Hom}_A(E, G_\alpha) \to \operatorname{Hom}_A(E, \lim_{\longrightarrow} G_\alpha)

is bijective.
