Commutative Algebra, II, 153

Let AA be a ring and (fi)i∈I(f_i)_{i \in I} a finite family of elements of AA generating the ideal AA.

(a) Let MM be an AA-module. Show that, if, for all i∈Ii \in I, MfiM_{f_i} is a finitely generated AfiA_{f_i}-module, MM is a finitely generated AA-module.

(b) Let BB be a (commutative) AA-algebra. Show that, if, for all i∈Ii \in I, BfiB_{f_i} is a finitely generated AfiA_{f_i}-algebra, BB is a finitely generated AA-algebra.
