Exercise 6, § 5
Commutative Algebra, II, 147
Bourbaki marks this one as harder than the rest.
Let be an integral domain, its field of fractions and an -module. Show that the following properties are equivalent: (a) is a projective -module such that is finite. (b) is finitely generated projective -module. (y) is finitely generated and, for every maximal ideal of , the -module is free. (To show that (a) implies (b), use Algebra, Chapter 11, § 5, no. 5, Proposition 9. To show that (y) implies (a), observe first that is torsion-free and conclude that, for every prime ideal of , is a free -module of constant rank.)
