Bourbaki marks this one as harder than the rest.
Let A be a Laskerian ring. Let a be an ideal of A and a=⋂1≤i≤nqi a reduced primary decomposition of a in A; let pi denote the radical of qi; suppose that the minimal elements of Assf(A/a) are the pi such that 1≤i≤s and that s<n. We write b=⋂1≤i≤sqi,c=⋂s+1≤i≤nqi.
(a) Show that there exists x∈c such that x∈/pi for 1≤i≤s and that a=b∩(a+Ax).
(b) Suppose for example that ps+1 is minimal in Assf(A/c). Show that xps+1+a=Ax+a and a=b∩(xps+1+a); moreover, ps+1 is minimal in Assf(A/b), where b=xps+1+a. Show that the saturation of b with respect to ps+1 is different from q1′′. (Note that this saturation cannot contain x.)
