Let XX be a set and MaM_a the free magma constructed on a set {a}\{a\} with one element. Let ρ\rho denote the homomorphism of M(X)M(X) into MaM_a which maps every element of XX onto aa; on the other hand let λ:M(X)→Mo(X)\lambda : M(X) \to Mo(X) be the homomorphism defined in no. 9. Show that the mapping w↦(λ(w),ρ(w))w \mapsto (\lambda(w), \rho(w)) is an isomorphism of M(X)M(X) onto the submagma of Mo(X)×MaMo(X) \times M_a consisting of the ordered pairs (u,v)(u, v) where uu and vv have the same length.
