Determine the endomorphisms of the ring $\mathbf{Z}$ and the ring $\mathbf{Z} \times \mathbf{Z}$. More generally, if I and J are finite sets, determine the homomorphisms of the ring $\mathbf{Z}^I$ into the ring $\mathbf{Z}^J$.
