(a) For an AA-module QQ to be injective, it is sufficient that, for every projective AA-module PP and every submodule P′P' of PP, every linear mapping of P′P' into QQ can be extended to a linear mapping of PP into QQ (use the fact that every AA-module is a quotient of a projective AA-module).

(b) For an AA-module PP to be projective, it is sufficient that, for every injective AA-module QQ and every quotient module Q′′Q'' of QQ, every homomorphism of PP into Q′′Q'' be of the form ϕ∘u\phi \circ u, where ϕ:Q→Q′′\phi : Q \to Q'' is the canonical homomorphism and uu is a homomorphism of PP into QQ (use the fact that every AA-module is a submodule of an injective AA-module).
